Artist In Residence
Shane Laporte
Born in Montreal, Shane studied Creative Arts at John Abbott College in Quebec and then moved to Vancouver in 1994. He's an honours graduate of the Vancouver Film School's Writing For Film & Television program and a two-time winner of the Praxis Fellowship for Screenwriting. He's also a past participant of the Playwright's Theatre Centre's Writer's Block program, and Alberta Theatre Project's 24-hour playwriting competition. His plays and screenplays have been featured at both the Cold Reading Series the Final Draught reading series.
While in residence with The Virtual Stage, Shane will be developing his new comedy The Thing in the Bedroom.
